Here are the exact guidelines that should be followed during this period-
Conduct In Places Of Worship
Campaigning in houses of worship (such as mosques, churches, and temples) is absolutely prohibited.
There are no appeals to caste or communal feelings to secure votes.
Criticism and Personal Attacks
Criticism of rival parties should be limited to their policies, programs, and track records.
Avoid personal assaults or criticism that are unconnected to public actions.
Unverified claims and distortions should be avoided.
Prohibition of Corrupt Practice
Parties and candidates must avoid all sorts of corruption, including bribery, intimidation, impersonation, and canvassing near polling stations.
Distribution of booze on election day or 48 hours prior is severely prohibited.
Respect for private property
- Parties may not use private property for campaign materials without permission.
Peaceful Political Activities
Ensure that political meetings and processions are peaceful and do not interfere with those arranged by rival parties.
There will be no removal of other parties' posters.
Regulation of rallies
Procession routes and schedules must be followed without deviation.
Authorities must be notified to guarantee adequate regulation.
Traffic Management
Organizers must guarantee that road traffic is disrupted as little as possible during processions.
Long processions should be divided into manageable pieces.
Prohibition on Effigy Burning
- Carrying and burning effigies of members of other political parties or leaders is prohibited.
Regulation for Candidate Camps
Avoiding huge crowds and serving food in candidate camps near booths.
The ruling party cannot monopolize government facilities or accommodations for political reasons.
Election Manifesto and Freebies
- While election manifestos are not considered unethical practices, the distribution of gifts might sway voters and must be carefully handled.
