Description
Due to the Andhra Pradesh Board exams, schools in the state will be temporarily closed in several areas. Schools will close on March 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, and 30, 2024. Schools designated as exam centers for the AP 10th and 12th board exams will hold classes on March 24, 31, April 7, 12, 14, and 21, 2024.
Given the hard weather circumstances, schools are recommended to offer enough hydration facilities, coordinate with local authorities to give students with essential refreshment, and extend the Jagananna Gorumudda Scheme after school hours.
Schools around the state are exploring early summer breaks owing to the expected high temperatures. Schools are considering starting summer vacation on April 24, 2024, and extending it until June 15, 2024. The school education administration has yet to issue an official confirmation for the summer breaks.
Summer holidays in 2023 were shorter in Telangana, where schools were closed from April 25 to June 11, 2024, and in Andhra Pradesh from May 1 to June 11, 2024.
