Description
The Tamil Nadu government has established the 'Neengal Nalama' (Are you fine?) plan, a beneficiary outreach program aiming at monitoring the implementation of flagship schemes and addressing public complaints. The campaign was launched by Minister of Rural Development I. Periyasamy, with Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, other ministers, senior officials, and district collectors reaching out to recipients across the state.
Direct Interaction With The Beneficiaries
Under the 'Neengal Nalama' initiative, the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Department Heads, Department Secretaries, and District Collectors would contact people directly to inquire about their level of benefit and to identify any bottlenecks associated with various government schemes.
Web Portal For Public Feedback
As part of the initiative, the Chief Minister launched a web portal through which recipients can voice their ideas and provide feedback on the Tamil Nadu government's welfare projects. This effort seeks to enhance government services by soliciting feedback from recipients via direct interactions with ministers, senior officials, and district collectors.
Flagship Programs And Beneficiaries
The Tamil Nadu government has recently launched several flagship programs, including-
Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam provides a monthly financial benefit of Rs. 1,000 to 1.15 crore women.
Vidiyal Payana Thittam has enabled women to take 445 crore free bus travels so far.
Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam: More than a crore people receive health services at their doorstep.
The Free Breakfast Scheme serves 16 lakh kids across the state every day.
