Maharashtra has published its fourth women's policy, which seeks to encourage women's overall development. Aditi Tatkare, Minister of Women and Child Development, introduced this strategy on the occasion of Women's Day, which coincides with the Women's Economic Development Corporation's golden jubilee.
Key Policy Aspects
The new policy addresses numerous facets of women's empowerment, including-
Health and Nutrition

Women's Safety and Prevention of Violence Against Women
Promoting Gender Equality
Economic and Social Empowerment of Women
Maharashtra Leads The Way
Maharashtra was the first state in India to implement a women's policy. The state previously announced three women's policies, all of which aim to promote women's growth. Aditi Tatkare is confident that the recently announced fourth policy would promote gender equality and create a society in which women and other gender communities do not have to fight for their identity and rights.
Honouring Successful Women
During the ceremony, women who have found success through self-help groups were recognized. Some of the recipients are-
Varsha Gorivale from Ratnagiri produces seaweed.
Lata Jadhav promotes hydroponic farming
Mamta Brahmankar of Gondia, for her dairy business
Kalpana Limji Mangam of Yavatmal, for her involvement in tribal communities.

Maharashtra's new women's policy prioritizes health, education, safety, and economic empowerment. The state has been a trailblazer in implementing women's policies, and the fourth policy seeks to promote gender equality and establish a society in which women can prosper without experiencing obstacles to their rights and identity.
