ICAI CA May Exam 2024 Could Be Postponed Due To Lok Sabha Elections

ICAI According to the notification, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will most likely postpone the CA foundation, final, and intermediate exams for the May session if the dates coincide with the general elections in 2024. The authorities have already completed registrations for the CA May session exams 2024.

ICAI CA May Exam 2024 Postponement Is Likely Due To Lok Sabha Elections

This year, The 18th General Elections for Lok Sabha will be administered. The official notification of ICAI reads, ‘’It is pertinent to mention that General Election to 18th Lok Sabha are scheduled to be held in 2024, notification for which is awaited. Accordingly, the Examination Committee may reschedule May 2024 CA Examination, if the dates of General Election coincide with the present Examination Schedule.’’

The notice further reads, ‘’The Examination Committee in its 648th Meeting held on 8th and 9th January 2024 among others has decided that there should be a cooling off period for one attempt after three (3) consecutive attempts for Observership duties. The same be applicable w.e.f. May 2024 with retrospective details.’’
