Description
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has added an option to submit marks online. The board has directed all head examiners of the WB Madhyamik exams to submit their results online. The provision was introduced to improve efficiency. This is in addition to the current method of submitting WB class 10 exam marks using ICR and OMR mark foils.
Online Verification
The West Bengal Board administered the WB Madhyamik exams from February 2 to 12, 2024. The board had partially implemented online verification last year, and for the 2024 exams, the board is taking it one step further to streamline the submission procedure.
The board stated that transitioning to a new system may present some challenges, so it is encouraged to seek assistance from scrutineers. Schools can enlist the help of 4 to 5 scrutineers who can help them navigate the online mark submission process effectively and on time.
- A detailed video demonstration will be provided to students and head examiners to familiarize them with the mark submission process. Authorities will also be notified once the video is available.
The Board's Measures
The state board has issued guidelines for maintaining security and confidentiality standards when handling the allotted packers of written answer scripts. The board proposes the following measures-
safe handling of answer sheets during transit, secure storage, confidentiality, non-evaluation of answer sheets in public spaces, and submission of answer scripts. Officials were also instructed to keep the CCTV footage from exam days until the WB class 10 result 2024 is released.
