Description

The Maharashtra government has issued a circular asking schools to start sessions from pre-primary to class four after 9:00 am. The state education authority took this action after Governor Ramesh Bais expressed his disapproval with the early school timings for primary schools.

According to the most recent circular, schools that begin classes from pre-primary to fourth grade before 9:00 am must alter their timetables accordingly. Furthermore, the circular advises that school administrators who are experiencing difficulty changing their timings should contact the appropriate district education officer to find a solution.

Aim Of Changing Maharashtra School Timings

The circular stated that students were not getting enough sleep as a result of lifestyle changes such as staying up late, listening to loud music, and having access to a wide range of entertainment options. According to the document, the student's enthusiasm has diminished as a result.

The circular further notes that schools should not find any difficulties in following the guidelines provided in the Right to Education Act of 2009. In December of last year, Governor Ramesh Bais advocated a shift in school hours while announcing a number of initiatives through the education department.

The Governor stated that everyone's sleep schedules had changed in recent times. Many children remain awake even after midnight. However, students must get up early to attend school. This leads to insufficient sleep for youngsters and necessitates modifications in school schedules. As a result of these factors, Maharashtra schools have been ordered to start at 9:00 am.
