In a remarkable step, MeitY Secretary S Krishnan launched the India Innovation Centre for Graphene (IICG) and a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Intelligent Internet of Things (IIoT) Sensors in Kerala. The Digital University Kerala (DUK) (previously IIITMK) and CMET, Thrissur, are important technological partners in building these pioneering facilities.
Makers Village Kochi Offers Unique Facilities
The CoE in IIoT Sensors, located in Makers Village Kochi, is a unique facility established via the collaborative efforts of MeitY, the Government of India, and the Government of Kerala. The major goal is to accelerate the development of sensors in the domain of Intelligent IoT systems, which includes a wide range of applications spanning networks, devices, and sensor systems.
In addition, the India Innovation Centre for Graphene (IICG) was developed at Makers Village Kochi in conjunction with Tata Steel Limited. This center is billed as the first of its sort in the country, with an emphasis on developing graphene technology.
Technical Partners' Experience Setting Up Centers
