Inspiration The ropeway stations in Varanasi Cantt include artifacts depicting Lord Shiva, such as the damru (drum), trident, conch, river, moon, and riverside.

Project Details For Kashi Ropeway
Capacity and Operation The system will consist of 153 gondolas, each carrying ten passengers, capable of conveying 3,000 people per hour in each direction. Operating for 16 hours daily, it provides a convenient form of transportation for both locals and tourists.
Route and Stations The 3.85 km ride will pass through five stations: Vidya Peeth, Bharatmata Mandir, Rath Yatra, Girja Ghar, and Godowlia Chowk. It promises a quick 16-minute journey from Varanasi Cantt to the Godaulia crossroads.
Pilgrim and Tourist Friendly The ropeway pauses at significant monuments and religious places, catering to pilgrims, tourists, and local commuters.
Foundation And Cost Of The Kashi Ropeway
Foundation Stone Prime Minister Narendra Modi lay the foundation stone for the Rupees 644 crore project on March 24, 2023. It is a combination of tradition and modernity.
Construction details The ropeway has 30 pillars, 10 on government territory and 20 on private/institutional land.
