The inauguration celebrations for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir are slated to beginon January 16 with the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony, a seven-day sacred ritual. The formal pre-Praan Pratishtha sacraments are scheduled from January 16 to 21, leading up to Shri Ram Lalla's consecration on January 22.
Preparations And Expectations For The Ayodhya Ram Mandir
Preparations for this historic event are already underway, with over 8,000 people expected on the day of consecration. Devotees are expected to increase in number beginning January 23, as the atmosphere is charged with spiritual zeal.
The Presence Of The Prime Minister
On January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the Ram Temple consecration event.
The auspicious event include installing the deity in its allotted position in the temple's 'Garbh Griha' on January 18.
7-Day Ritual At Ayodhya Ram Mandir - Complete Schedule
- January 16-21: Atonement and Rituals
The selected host will lead the atonement ceremony, which will include the 'Dashvidh' bath, Vishnu worship, and cow offerings along the sacred Saryu River.
- January 17: Ram Lalla Procession
A spectacular procession will transport Lord Ram's child-like form (Ram Lalla) to Ayodhya. On their way to the Ram Janmabhoomi shrine, devotees would carry Saryu water in Mangal Kalash.
- January 18: Formal Rituals Begin
The formal commencement of rites is marked by Ganesh Ambika puja, Varun puja, Matrika puja, Brahmin Varan, and Vastu puja.
- January 19: Lighting of the Holy Fire
Following the lighting of the sacred fire, the establishment of 'Navagraha' and a 'havan' ceremony will take place.
- January 20: Sanctum Sanctorum Cleansing
The temple's sanctum sanctorum will be cleaned with Saryu's holy water, followed by Vaastu peace and Annadhivas procedures.
- January 21: Divine Bath and Culmination
A heavenly bath will be performed with 125 urns, culminating in Shayadhivas, where the Ram Lalla deity will be bathed and set to rest.
- January 22: Consecration Day
Morning puja and consecration of the Ram Lalla deity in 'Mrigashira Nakshatra' during the afternoon Pran Pratishtha at 12:20 pm, followed by a 'aarti'.
