Description
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar and the University of San Diego, both in the United States, have agreed to work on academic, research, capacity-building, training, and faculty/staff development activities.
The institutes will provide collaborative double master's programs, dual degree programs at the BTech and master's levels, including master's degrees in engineering management and leadership, and joint executive education programs through this new collaboration.
The MoU was signed and exchanged on January 13 at the IITGN campus by Prof Chell Roberts, Dean, Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering (SMSE), University of San Diego, and Professor S P Mehrotra, Professor-in-Charge, External Relations, IITGN, in the presence of Professor G B Singh, Academic Director, University of San Diego, and Professor Rajat Moona, Director, IITGN, to pave the way for a fruitful and active collaboration between both institutes.
This agreement will also allow for the exchange of incubation, innovation, and entrepreneurship activities; the organization of joint seminars, workshops, and conferences; the implementation of staff/faculty development programs, capacity building, and specialized training programs; and the implementation of short-term student programs for education camps or internships to allow for a two-way exchange of students and research scholars.
Professor Rajat Moona, Director, IIT Gandhinagar while signing the agreement said: “It is our pleasure to team up with the University of San Diego to serve our shared goals of providing the best of global education, training, and exposure to our students, faculty, researchers, and staff to excel in their fields.”
