Description
The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has announced four new scholarships for Chemistry and Law students beginning in the academic year 2024-25. Alumni Madan Mohan Kayastha and his wife, Santosh Kayastha, have given Rupees 20 lakh to establish these scholarships in remembrance of their parents. Mr Kayastha, a BHU alumnus, earned his MTech in Industrial Chemistry in 1951.
The Sita Ram and Ajudhia Devi Scholarships honor Madan Mohan Kayastha's parents. They will be given to one female student in her first year of BSc (Chemistry Hons) and one male student in her first year of MSc (Chemistry).

Similarly, the Bhagwati and Mulk Raj Mahajan Scholarships have been established to honor the parents of Santosh Kayastha (Mahajan). This scholarship will be awarded to a first-year female student studying a BA (LLB) Hons and a second-year student pursuing an LLM. BHU's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sudhir Kumar Jain, praised the alumni's strong commitment and connection to the university.
