The deadline to apply for the National means-cum-merit Scholarship Scheme Examination (NMMS) has been extended till December 27, 2023, according to the Directorate of Government Examinations in Tamil Nadu. Interested students should apply online on the official website. It is best to apply before the deadline.
The Tamil Nadu NMMS Scholarship 2023 is open to students in class 8 who attend government or government-aided schools in Tamil Nadu. The exam is scheduled to be conducted in February 2, 2024. Students who pass the exam will be awarded a scholarship of Rupees 12,000 per year. To be eligible, students must have a household income of less than Rupees 3,50,000. The question paper will also be based on the syllabus of class 7 and 8.

According to the official notice, "the final list of students' verified at all concerned levels on National Scholarship Portal will be considered for sanction of funds." Scholarships for those students will be discontinued if they are unable to renew their applications on NSP within the time frame specified.
About Tamil Nadu NMMS 2024
The SAT (Scholastic Abilities Test) and the Mental Ability Test (MAT) will be part of the Tamil Nadu NMMS 2023-24. Each test will have ninety multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each paper is 90 minutes long.
Student's verbal and nonverbal metacognitive skills, such as reasoning and critical thinking, will be evaluated during the mental ability test. The SAT, on the other hand, will assess a student's knowledge of math, science, and social studies.
