Description
As a result of Cyclone Michaung's forecast, schools in various districts of Chennai have been closed. According to the most recent updates, schools and colleges in Puducherry, Karaikal, Kalaiselvi, Kanchipuram, Chennai, Chengalpet, and Thiruvallore are closed on December 5,2023. District Collectors announced the closure of educational institutions in order to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

As per the latest update, Due to the Cyclonic storm 'Michaung', all schools, colleges, educational institutions, and government offices including the Offices of Public Undertakings/ Corporations, Boards, Banks, and Financial Institutions in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu Districts will be closed on December 5, 2023.

AP SCHOOL HOLIDAY HAS BEEN DECLARED
The state government of Andhra Pradesh has declared a school holiday in the NTR and Krisha districts. The holiday has been declared for on December 5, 2023, as a result of Cyclone Michaung. NTR District Collector S Dilli Rao made the announcement.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted a cyclonic storm to cross South Andhra Pradesh and the adjoining North Tamil Nadu coast between Chennai and Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh on December 4 evening. As a precautionary measure, schools have been closed.
Cyclone Michaung: Offices in WFH Mode, Flights Cancelled/Diverted
The Tamil Nadu government has declared a public holiday on December 4. Due to the impending cyclone, the state government has directed private companies and other offices to allow employees to work from home or operate with fewer employees. In addition, due to heavy rain, several flights at Chennai International Airport were cancelled and others were diverted.
