Description
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) will launch the redesigned "DIGI-PHARMed" application, which will have four integrated services on December 1. The major goal is to regulate pharmacy education throughout India by making it easier to enroll and register pharmaceutical institutions, pharmacists, pharmacy students, and pharmacist job seekers.
Inauguration And Goals
The new "DIGI-PHARMed" Portal will be inaugurated by Dr. Montu Kumar M Patel, President of PCI. The previous version's breadth was limited, leading the redesign to provide full digital services to pharmacy institutions, faculty, students, and job seekers in the pharmacy business.
Cloud-Based End-To-End Services
The redesigned "DIGI-PHARMed" Portal is a cloud-based application paradigm that provides end-to-end services for pharmacy institutions, pharmacists, pharmacy students, and pharmacists looking for work. The goal is to completely digitize registration and enrollment services in order to save time, reduce paper usage, increase customer happiness, and improve administrative efficiency and transparency.
Collaboration To Improve Pharmacy Education
PCI intends to work with the Quality Council of India (QCI), based in New Delhi, to create an assessment and grading system. This approach will prioritize process and educational outcomes in order to create excellence in pharmacy education. The framework, which consists of 11 criteria and associated metrics, will be pilot tested with chosen pharmaceutical colleges before being fully implemented across the country.

The overall goal is to help pharmacy education institutes move from compliance to excellence. The collaboration of PCI and QCI under the "DIGI-PHARMed" program represents a strategic shift toward the use of digital platforms for the efficient regulation, assessment, and development of pharmacy education standards in India.
