Description

IIT Madras has made available mock tests for all seven papers of the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2024. Candidates who intend to appear for the examination can now do so on the official website.

The exam will take place on February 11, 2024. The application period has ended, and admit cards for JAM 2024 will be issued on January 8.

JAM 2024 Mock Test: Important Points

  • JAM 2024 will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode for all seven papers.

  • Candidates will be shown questions in a random order. The exam will last three hours and will be administered in English.

  • There will be a total of 60 questions worth 100 marks in each paper. The paper will be divided into three sections: A, B, and C, with mandatory questions in each.

Here are more details-

  • Section A contains 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with 10 questions worth one mark and 20 questions worth two marks each. Each MCQ has four possible answers, only one of which is correct.

  • Section B consists of ten multiple-choice questions (MSQs) worth two marks each. These questions may contain one or more correct answers from the four options provided. Candidates get full marks if they select all of the correct answers and none of the incorrect answers.

  • Section C 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions, 10 of which are for one mark and 10 of which are worth two. The answer to each NAT question is a signed real number, which candidates must enter using the virtual numeric keypad.

  • Unanswered questions will result in a zero marks. In section A, incorrect answers will have negative marks - one-third for those carrying one mark each, two-thirds for those carrying two marks each. Sections B and C have no negative marking.
