The Union Minister of Textile, Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, and Food and Public Distribution has launched the Kasturi Cotton Bharat website.
About Kasturi Cotton Bharat
It is a collaborative effort of the Ministry of Textiles, the Cotton Corporation of India, and Trade Bodies and Industry.
Objective
To work on the self-regulation principle by taking full responsibility for the branding, traceability, and certification of Indian cotton in order to increase its competitiveness in the global market and build a sustainable environment for all stakeholders involved.
The website serves as a digital forum for important information and updates on these activities, as well as highlighting the registration procedure for ginners interested in producing Kasturi Cotton Bharat Brand.
All ginners in the country have been authorized to produce the Kasturi Cotton Bharat brand in accordance with the protocol.
In addition, QR-based certification technology will be employed at each level of the processing to enable comprehensive traceability of Kasturi Cotton Bharat across the supply chain, and a blockchain-based software platform will provide end-to-end traceability and transaction certificate.
The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL), the apex authority, has been selected as the implementing agency for "KASTURI Cotton India" traceability, certification, and branding.
