After hearing proposals from the Karnataka High Court, the Department of School Education and Literacy may change the school hours for Bangalore schools. The department will hold a meeting on October 5, 2023, to consider school hours.
Due to traffic issues, Bangalore school schedules are likely to vary. Schools currently start running from 8:30 am. These times are expected to be advanced by one hour or thirty minutes. The action will prevent traffic congestion on the highways during peak hours.

School officials, private transporters, and guardians are outraged by the decision, which may have an impact on the mental and physical health of students as well as parents. To deal with the situation, they have proposed sending more police officers in high-traffic locations.
School Management, Parents May Suffer Due To Bangalore School Timings
Shashi Kumar D, General Secretary of the Associated Management of Schools in Karnataka (KAMS), has stated that changing school hours will simply make things more difficult for both parents and children. Household tasks begin at 4:30 am every day. If the time is set earlier, parents may have to cut their sleeping time short, resulting in a decrease in physical and emotional well-being.
He went on to say that if Bangalore school hours are changed, not only parents but the entire school administration, including teaching and non-teaching staff, will suffer challenges. They, like their parents, will have to get up early, putting them under pressure. They will have to arrive at school before the students, causing significant disruption.
