Description

The Indian Army has created the Jammu and Kashmir Special Scholarship Scheme 2023 with the goal of providing educational opportunity to impoverished students in Jammu and Kashmir.

The effort is being launched to bridge the social divide between rich and impoverished children. Students who lack appropriate means but have remarkable potential and passion in the field of education will be granted scholarships and financial aid to help them continue their further education.

The scholarship will cover the education of 146 students from various districts throughout the valley, with each receiving 1.2 lakh.  Other expenses incurred as a result of the research  different universities will bear the costs. There are the 12 affiliated universities where students can further their study through this project.

According to information provided by a defense spokesperson, hundreds of students applied for the scholarship from the Kupwara district. A written test and an interview were used to select approximately 34 students for the scholarship. On behalf of the Kupwara-based Army division, the students in question were given a heartfelt send-off at Drugmullah.

The ceremony, according to the spokesperson, was also intended to encourage more students from the poorer parts of society to seek higher education and contribute to the creation of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. The scholarship program is part of the Army's 'Sadbhavana' operation.
