Bangalore School Holiday: Why Is Karnataka Bandh Being Called?
Pro-Kannada organizations led by the Kannada Chaluvali group, have called for bandh on September 29, 2023. The bandh has been called at the state level in protest against the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.
Farmers and activists are protesting across Karnataka after the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) ordered the state to release 5000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu for 15 days.

No, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced that metro services between Mysore Road and Kengeri stations would be discontinued on September 29, 2023, for planned inspection work.
The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety will conduct a 'Statutory Safety Inspection' on Namma Metro's newly established Purple line (running from Kengri to Challaghatta).
Furthermore, train services between Baiyyappanahalli and Mysore Road, Whitefield, and K R Puram stations, as well as the entire Green Line, would be operationalon September 30.
