Description

Karnataka has declared a state-wide bandh for September 26, 2023. The bandh has been declared in protest against the release of 5000 cubic meters of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu.

Schools and universities will be affected and would most likely remain closed. Students, on the other hand, have been instructed to wait for official notification of the holiday.

Pro-Kannada organizations have announced the Bengaluru-Bandh to protest the release of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu from dams in the state. Schools, colleges, and other private entities have been asked to support the bandh and statewide shutdown.

Students and parents are encouraged to stay in touch with their particular schools and teachers for any updates on school closures. Parents have also been warned to solely depend on official bandh notifications.

Previously, on September 11, 2023, a bandh was called, which comprised over 10 lakh private automobiles and corporate buses that were non-functional as part of the bandh organized by the Federation of Karnataka State Private Transport Associations. Several schools stayed closed during the bandh.

It should be noted that the school and college holiday on September 26, 2023, has yet to be verified by officials, and students are urged to wait for official notification.
