Bhartiya Shiksha Board To Revive Traditional Indian Knowledge Systems

The Bhartiya Shiksha Board (BSB), founded by yoga teacher Ramdev and Patanjali's Balkrishna, seeks to re-establish Indian knowledge systems by discarding Thomas Babington Macaulay's education policy in favor of Bhartiya Gyan Parampara (Indian knowledge tradition) and the Gurukul system. The BSB believes that the Macaulay education system, which was introduced by the British in the nineteenth century, is incompatible with Indian culture and values.

Bhartiya Shiksha Board Curriculum

In an eclectic blend, the BSB curriculum mixes traditional Indian wisdom and knowledge systems with contemporary scientific understanding and technology. Candidates should review the following topics from the official website regarding the BSB curriculum and textbooks:

  • Promote respect for Bharat's distinct multicultural character by using pan-India textbooks that highlight the country's unique unity through the incorporation of regional literature from all states.

  • on developing STEAM competencies in students by making science, technology, English, arts, and mathematics compulsory.

  • Computer programming, vocational education and training, yoga, sports, and fine and performing arts training are all included.

  • In all topics, emphasize skill development through the Four-Block learning strategy of shared, guided, and individual practice.

  • Making hybrid textbooks with integrated digital content accessible via QR codes
