The Indian spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 has finished its final mission and landed safely on the Moon's surface. The touch-down occurred at 6:04 pm on August 23, 2023, as planned. With the successful lunar landing of Chandrayaan-3, India has joined the United States, China, and the former Soviet Union as the fourth nation to master the technology of soft lunar landings.
The Chandrayaan-3 expedition included over 54 female engineers/scientists. According to ISRO, they are "associate and deputy project directors and project managers of various systems."

1. S Somanath, Chairman Of ISRO
ISRO chief S Somanath is the brains behind India's ambitious Moon mission. Somanath has also been credited with hastening ISRO's other missions, such as Gaganyaan and Sun-mision Aditya-L1. Before taking over as India's space agency, Somanath was the director of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) and the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre – the key ISRO development centers for rocket technologies.
2. P Veeramuthuvel, Chandrayaan-3 Project Director
P Veeramuthuvel is the project director for India's latest lunar touch-down mission. He assumed command of the mission in 2019. Before the Moon mission, Veeramuthuvel was a deputy director in the ISRO headquarters' Space Infrastructure Programme Office. He is well-known for his technical abilities. Veeramuthuvel was also the main person for the Chandrayaan-2 mission's discussions with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Veeramuthuvel is a Tamil Nadu native who attended the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras (IIT-M).
3. Mohana Kumar, Mission Director
S Mohana Kumar, a senior scientist at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, is the mission director for Chandrayaan-3. Kumar was the director for the successful commercial launch of the One Web India 2 satellites onboard the LVM3-M3 mission.
4. S Unnikrishnan Nair, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) Director
S Unnikrishnan Nair is the director of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) at Thumba, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He and his crew are in charge of the mission's critical functions. The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) also created the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mark -III rocket, which was renamed Launch Vehicle Mark-III.
5. M Sankaran, U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) Director
M Sankaran, the director of U R Rao Satellite Centre, is in charge of guiding the satellite community in meeting national requirements in fields like as communication, navigation, remote sensing, meteorology, and interplanetary exploration. He takes over as director of the primary institution in India for the design, development, and realization of all ISRO satellites in June 2021.
6. A Rajarajan, Launch Authorisation Board (LAB) Chief
A Rajarajan is a composites expert and the director of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR (SDSC SHAR) at Sriharikota. He was in charge of solid motor manufacture and launch complex infrastructure in order to fulfill ISRO's increased demand for launches, which included launches for the Human Space Programme (Gaganyaan) and SSLV. The Launch Authorisation Board (LAB) approves the launch.
