Description
The Maharashtra government bestowed the first-ever 'Udyog Ratna' award to eminent industrialist Ratan Tata. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar gave the award to the 85-year-old chairman emeritus of Tata Sons at the industrialist's home in Colaba, south Mumbai.
The Tata group has made enormous contributions in various fields. Steel-to-salt group operates in over 100 countries across six continents. Tata enterprises' combined revenue in 2021-22 was $128 billion. The shawl, citation, and memento were presented by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). It is delivered by Maharashtra's Chief Minister.
