Description

The "Ayush Visa," a new category of visas recently introduced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, is meant to encourage medical travel to India. This visa is intended to serve foreign nationals looking for different types of medical care, such as wellness services, yoga, and therapeutic care, under Ayush or Indian medical systems.

A Gateway To Healthcare: Ayush Visa

The Ayush Visa is an important step in opening up traditional Indian medical practices including Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy to foreign nationals. This visa category's main objective is to draw visitors from all over the world who are looking for specialized medical care provided in India. This includes people looking for alternative medicines, natural cures, and holistic wellness.

Increasing The Health Sector's Economy

With an anticipated annual growth rate of 9.9%, the global wellness economy is expanding quickly at the same time as the Ayush Visa initiative. The healthcare and wellness sector in Ayush is anticipated to grow to a staggering $70 billion by 2025. This demonstrates India's enormous potential to take the lead in the medical tourism sector.

Coordinated Efforts

India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the Ministry of Ayush recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), recognizing the need of boosting medical value travel. The partnership intends to increase the recognition of Ayurveda and other conventional medical practices while improving accessibility to visitors from around the world.

Moreover, the "Heal in India" portal is being developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Ayush and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. This web platform will act as a one-stop shop for the marketing of medical tourism in India, offering thorough details about the range of possible treatments, the availability of healthcare facilities, and the prerequisites for obtaining a visa for visitors from outside India.
