England all-rounder Moeen Ali has confirmed his retirement from test cricket following the conclusion of the Ashes series, although he will continue to play in other forms. He took part in the Ashes series at the request of England Test captain BenStokes. He, however, retired from test cricket in September 2021.
He appeared in 68 test matches for England, taking 204 wickets and scoring 3094 runs. In June 2023, he was given the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to cricket.
