Description
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) announced on July 26, 2023, that applications for the September 2023 batch of its recently launched Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electronic Systems program are now available. This course will allow candidates to utilize engineering ideas and information they have learned to create and improve systems and processes for applications. The registration deadline for the program is August 27, 2023.
According to IIT Madras, this newly created BS degree in Electronic Systems received over 1800 applications in the first round, which closed on June 25, 2023. Nearly 1200 of these are ordinary entry candidates who will have to go through a qualifying process that includes an exam on August 6, 2023. The remaining applications are from JEE candidates who can get direct admission to the program.
The program is IIT-M's second BS degree and is in line with the country's semiconductor objective. The program, which was developed in collaboration with industry leaders, includes in-person labs at IIT Madras, ensuring hands-on practical training that improves candidate's understanding of electronic systems.
Candidates who complete the program will have gained industry-ready skills that will allow them to work in a variety of industries such as automotive, semiconductor, and defense in roles such as electronic system designer, embedded system developer, electronic hardware specialist, system testing engineer, and electronics research engineer.
