The Ministry of Culture recently announced that Gita Press, Gorakhpur, will be awarded the Gandhi Peace Prize for 2021. This prestigious award recognizes Gita Press' exceptional contribution to nonviolent and other Gandhian methods of social, economic, and political transformation. The Gandhi Peace Prize, established by the government in 1995 as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's ideals, has been bestowed upon numerous individuals and organizations for their outstanding efforts.

Established in 1923, Gita Press has grown to become one of the world's largest publishers, promoting Gandhian principles and disseminating knowledge through literature. Gita Press has touched the lives of countless people with its remarkable publication record of 417 million books in 14 languages, including 162 million copies of the sacred Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. 

Gandhi Peace Prize: A Salute To Valuable Contributions  

The Gandhi Peace Prize, which includes a cash prize of one crore, a citation, a plaque, and an exquisite traditional handicraft/handloom item, aims to recognize individuals and organizations for their extraordinary efforts in furthering Mahatma Gandhi's ideals.
