An official from the Madhya Pradesh government and the Indian Institute of Technology Indore said on May 2 that they are working on a collaboration in which 50 students from state engineering colleges would be able to complete their last year of BTech at IIT Indore.
According to the source, the state government-run Rajiv Gandhi Technological University wants to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Indore that will allow 50 students from various engineering institutions in MP to complete their final year at the renowned institute.
According to the planned MOU, regular professors at the state's government engineering colleges will be able to pursue a part-time PhD from IIT Indore in addition to their normal teaching duties.
According to an IIT Indore official, talks between the two parties on the draft MoU with the Rajiv Gandhi Technological University are ongoing but have yet to be resolved.
