About NIRF

The Ministry of Human Resource and Development approved the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) as a special technique to rate institutions according to a set of uniform criteria. With the goal of developing excellence among the numerous institutes nationwide, this framework was launched on 29th September 2015.

Importance Of NIRF And Its Ranking

  • Increases and improves the standard and quality of education across universities.

  • It encourages Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to enhance their performance academically.

  • It makes sure that there is no complacency in institutes.

  • It influence students' preferences for admission and helps them in selecting the best college.

  • It enhances the institution's credibility.

  • It draws students who are interested and talented in the topics.

  • It gives the institutions more chances and platforms.

  • It attracts large companies and organizations for placements

  • It guarantees ethical behaviour within the institution.

NIRF Ranking Parameters

The engineering colleges in India are ranked based on the 5 NIRF parameters which are listed below:

  • Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR)

  • Research and Professional Practice (RP)

  • Graduation Outcomes (GO)

  • Outreach and Inclusivity (OI)

  • Peer Perception

Conclusion

The engineering colleges mentioned in this article come under top 10 lists. However, not everyone is able to make it to that list. Well, you don’t have to be disheartened about that as there are several engineering colleges which impart great knowledge while providing top-notch infrastructures.

Remember, and be assured, that top 100 engineering colleges keep getting shuffled; this means that their position may change every year or couple of years, depending on the parameters they have been ranked.

This can be seen as, what was in the top 10 previous year, might slide down below 10; and what was below10, might move up to top 10.

Apart from that, engineering aspirants should also be aware that there are many types of entrance exams depending on the kind of engineering organization they choose, like IIT, NIT etc. Plus, the states also conduct their own engineering exams like KCET, MHTCET etc. Hence, the aspirants should be alert regarding what engineering stream they want to choose as they might end-up going on the wrong side of the traffic.

Engineers are the inventors of the future. They are the people who solve the most difficult problems in our society in order to usher us into a new era. Engineering is the practical application of scientific knowledge and mathematical methods to the design, construction, and operation of structures, machines, or systems. And to become an engineer, you need to have a proper preparation right from the initial step.

The JEE Mains 2022 Session 1 exam was conducted on April 16 and concluded on April 21, while the Session 2 exam was conducted on May 24 and concluded on May 29.
