Description

The Indian government has made some new announcements for agniveers. According to these announcements, youth serving as Agniveers in BSF will be given a 10% reservation. Aside from that, firemen will be exempted from physical examinations for BSF recruitment.

Agnipath Scheme

The Agneepath scheme was launched to recruit soldiers for three services. Annually, 45,000 to 50,000 soldiers will be recruited under this plan. The majority of them will be hired for only four years. Approximately 25% of total annual recruits will be allowed to serve under permanent commission for the next 15 years.

The Significance Of The Scheme

The decision will reduce the number of standing forces in India's over 13 lakh-strong armed forces. This scheme will also reduce the defence pension bill, which has long been a source of concern for governments.

Eligibility Criteria

The Agneepath scheme was established for personnel below the rank of officer who do not join the forces as commissioned officers. Candidates between the ages of 17.5 and 21 will be eligible to apply under this provision. The recruitment standards will remain the same. Rallying will be used to recruit personnel twice a year.

Training For Candidates

Following selection, candidates will be required to complete six months of training. They will then be stationed for three and a half years.

Salary And Other Benefits

During the training and service period, they will be paid Rupees 30,000 plus other benefits. As a result, after four years of service, the salary will be Rupees 40,000. During this time, 30% of the salary will be set aside for the "Service Fund Programme," to which the government will contribute the same amount each month. This amount will also be subject to interest charges. The personnel will receive Rupees 11.71 lakh tax-free at the end of the four-year period. They will also receive a four-year life insurance policy worth Rupees 48 lakh.
