The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, has recently launched a Research Internship Programme for students pursuing a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery as well as Master of Public Health courses. This initiative was launched to provide students with research opportunities while also developing future physician-scientists across the country. Students who are interested in the programme can fill out the registration forms on the official website using Google forms.
According to the most recent announcement, students who are selected will have the opportunity to work on a project with a faculty member at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The duration of the programme is 1 to 2 months. Furthermore, the internship programme will include a webinar series with pedagogical lectures on various research topics. These lessons will not only help students gain an understanding of a specific medically relevant problem, but they will also be necessary for their overall development.

IISc Internship Eligibility Criteria
Registered students who are in their third year of admission to an MBBS degree programme at a recognised medical school in India. In addition, they must have completed/will complete Phase-3 (Part 1) by December 2023 to be eligible to apply.
Candidates who have completed or will complete their first year MPH degree at a recognised institute in India before December 2023 are also eligible to apply.
IISc Internship Duration And Stipend
According to the information published by the institute, the duration of the internship is approximately 4 to 8 weeks, and selected students will only be able to make use of this opportunity once between March 2023 and February 2024.
Candidates who are chosen will receive a monthly stipend of Rupees 25000, as well as travel expenses. Cancer Biology, Biomaterials, Biomedical Devices, and Artificial Intelligence are among the major research themes.
