The Indian Defense Forces conducted "TRISHAKTI PRAHAR" firepower exercises to synergize firepower assets and orchestrate a battle. The exercise is critical in keeping the forces ready for battle. The Indian Air Force, CAPF, and Indian Army participated in the exercise.  It was a firepower exercise.

About Trishakti Prahar

• Trishakti Prahar's main goal was to sharpen their combat skills.

• During the exercise, all of the most recent defence equipment was used. This includes helicopters, infantry combat vehicles, advanced equipment, mortars, artillery guns, and so on.

• The exercise also made use of equipment developed as part of the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.

• Forces moved and practised throughout the regions of North Bengal.

• Through these exercises, the Indian Army determines whether its troops are battle-ready or not.

Lt Gen RP Kaltia, the eastern command officer, reviewed the exercise. The eastern command, based in Kolkata, is one of the Indian Army's six commands.

Where Was The Exercise Conducted?

The exercise was conducted at Teesta Field Firing Ranges. It is close to Siliguri. India considers Siliguri to be strategically important. This narrow 20 to 30-kilometer-wide passage connects Bangladesh to the south and Bhutan to the north. The Indian mainland will lose contact with the northeastern states if this passage is closed. As a result, the Siliguri corridor is vital to India.
