The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam 2023 is administered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur for admission to postgraduate engineering programmes. During PSU recruitment, GATE scores are also taken into account. According to the announced dates, the GATE 2023 will be held in computer-based mode on February 4, 5, 11, and 12.

GATE Exam

A total of 7,11,542 candidates took the GATE exam, according to reports and data from the previous year. 1,26,813 of these candidates received qualifying scores on the GATE exam. In addition, 98,732 male and 28,081 female candidates qualified the GATE exam overall.

GATE 2023 Exam Day Guidelines

The exam day guidelines will be mentioned on GATE admit card 2023. However, the candidates can go through some of the GATE exam day 2023 guidelines given below:

• Candidates must carry their GATE admit card 2023 with them when they take the exam.

• They must bring an original photo ID, such as an Aadhaar-UID, passport, PAN card, voter ID, or driving licence, to the exam centre in addition to their admit card.

• They must reach the GATE exam centre 90 minutes before the exam starts. Additionally, they won't be able to log in once the exam has begun, which is 30 minutes.

• They are allowed to log in and read the instructions 20 minutes before the exam begins.

• Candidates need to bring their own pocket-sized hand sanitizer, pencil, transparent water bottle, mask, and pen.

• They must read the question paper in order to choose and organise the order in which they should tackle the sections.

GATE 2023 Tips 

• Candidates need to be familiar with the GATE exam format. Understanding the types of questions asked in the exam is important.

• The virtual calculator and its functionality must be used by candidates in case they need to utilise it on the exam day.

• Candidates should practise, research, and revise at this time.

• Candidates should also review the GATE exam questions and the question papers from the previous year.

• The brief notes that candidates created during the preparation can be reviewed by them.

• Take a break in between and get plenty of rest the night before the GATE exam.

GATE 2023 Pre-Exam Instructions

• Candidates will be permitted to log in 20 minutes before the actual GATE exam 2023 begins.

• Candidates should go through the instructions during the allotted time.  However, they won't be able to begin responding until the allotted period.

• Candidates must make use of the time to comprehend the instructions given.

• Scribble pads for rough work will also be available at the exam location. After finishing the exam, candidates must return the scribble pad.

• Before utilising the scribble pad, each candidate must write their name and registration number on it.
