The Rajasthan government has approved an additional budget provision of Rupees 65 crore for 2022-23 under the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence scheme, which is intended for young people who desire to study overseas. Every year, the scheme grants free education to 200 students at prestigious institutions abroad, with 30% of places dedicated for women.
Students from Rajasthan are given the opportunity to study at the world's top 150 universities and institutes, including Oxford University, Stanford University, Harvard University, California Institute of Technology, Cambridge University, Princeton University, and the University of Toronto, as part of the scheme.
Priority is given to students from families earning less than Rupees 8 lakh. Students with a family income of up to Rupees 25 lakh are also eligible to apply.
