Description
In conjunction with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), this new server was installed at Rajasthan's Bhamashah State Data Centre in Jaipur.
This server's usage
The state will no longer be reliant on any root server for the domain name system, thanks to this newly installed root server. Now, if there is a problem with internet connectivity in India or Asia as a result of a natural disaster or a technological issue, the state of Rajasthan will be able to access the internet without interruption. In addition, this server will ensure that the state has high-speed internet access. With better load management and a decreased round trip latency time between the servers and the users, the new root server will benefit both industry and the general public.
Other Indian root servers
There are currently three J-root servers in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Gorakhpur, as well as two L-root servers in Kolkata and Mumbai. The L-root server that has been installed in Rajasthan is the first of its kind at the state level.
