Description

Prafulla Kar, a well-known Odia vocalist and music director, died of age-related diseases. Kar was a well-known musician, singer, songwriter, columnist, and writer. In 2015, he was honoured with the Padma Shri award.

In 1962, he debuted as a singer in the Odia film Shri Shri Patita Pabana. He made his debut as a music composer in the 1975 film Mamata, which was an instant hit. Batighara, Shesha Shrabana, Sindura Bindu, Bandhu Mahanti, Balidaan, and Ram Balaram are some of the films that will forever be remembered for his lovely soundtrack.
