The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has postponed the Class 1 online lottery till further notice. "The lottery for online admission to Class 1 for the session 2022-23, which was due to take place on April 18, 2022, has been postponed till further orders," according to a KVS statement. The lottery's new date will be announced as soon as possible. The application period for admission to Class 1 had previously concluded on April 13, 2022.
The registration deadline for KV Class 1 admission was previously April 11, but the KVS extended it until April 13 after the Delhi High Court directed that the last date to apply for fresh admissions in Kendriya Vidyalayas in Class 1 for the academic year 2022-2023 be extended.
Meanwhile, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has put the admission of District Magistrate/ Member of Parliament (MP) quota students to Kendriya Vidyalayas on hold. The KVS letter to schools stated, "As per the guidelines of KVS headquarters, New Delhi, no admissions should be made under special provisions until further orders." MPs can suggest up to ten children for admission to classes 1 to 9 under an unique provision. Aside from the MP/DM quota, there are 15- 16 more unique rules that can be used to make admittance.
