Description

The Uttarakhand government is planning to implement the 'Him Prahari' Scheme, which is aimed at ex-servicemen and young people. The Uttarakhand government is seeking the Union government's help in implementing the scheme in Uttarakhand's border areas. Ex-servicemen would also be given priority in the scheme's implementation in areas surrounding the state.

The project aims to prevent people from leaving Uttarakhand by focusing on places where migration is occurring at a rapid pace, encouraging people to stay put rather than leave. The scheme's budget is projected to be around Rs 5.45 crore. The Him Prahari Scheme was declared by the Uttarakhand unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in its election manifesto for 2022.

Characteristics

Ex-servicemen and young people are eligible for the Him Prahari scheme.

Its goal is to prevent people from fleeing the country.

The plan would concentrate on places where migration is occurring at a high pace, causing people to stay put rather than leave the state.

The state will prioritise resettling ex-servicemen in areas bordering the state under the scheme.

With long-term national interests in mind, the state administration will provide all necessary aid to ex-servicemen and youngsters in the state to settle in areas that share international boundaries.
