M P Govindan Nair, the former Kerala Health Minister, died here on Wednesday morning. He was 94 years old when he died. According to family accounts, Nair died of age-related problems at his home in this city.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed his sympathies on the passing of Nair, who served as the state's Health Minister from 1962 to 1964 under the Congress' administration. He was a Member of Parliament and the President of the Travancore Devaswom Board before retiring from active politics.
