The government-run Ambedkar University in Delhi announced on Thursday that all undergraduate admissions will be conducted through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Vice-Chancellor Anu Singh Lather told a press conference that the university's admissions will be conducted through the CUET. "All candidates, including those seeking admission to supernumerary seats, are required to take the CUET 2022." The eligibility criteria will be determined based on CUET scores," she explained.
Vice-Chancellor Lather also announced the Master of Arts in Criminology and Philosophy, as well as the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, which will begin in the academic year 2022-23. She also mentioned that the university is planning to open a new School of Rural and Tribal Studies.
Last month, UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said that starting in the 2022-23 academic year, central universities will have to use CUET scores to admit students to undergraduate programmes.
The CUET will be divided into three sections: required language, 27 topic fields, and a general test covering quantitative thinking, logical and analytical reasoning, numerical skills, general knowledge, and current events. The standard for all questions across sections will be Class 12 level. The exam will be administered by computer-based testing (CBT).
