The Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Woman Media Person 2021 went to Aarefa Johari, a Mumbai-based journalist. The announcement was made by the Media Foundation. Aarefa Johari works at 'Scroll' in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Neetu Singh received this award in the year 2020. She is a member of the 'Goan Connection' media house. The jury includes Nirupama Subramania, Githa Hariharan, and Ashutosh.

The Chameli Devi Jain Award is a prestigious yearly journalism award presented to Indian women journalists who have covered social development, politics, equity, gender justice, health, war and conflict, and consumer values. The award was established in 1980 by Verghese and Chameli Devi's family.
