The Indian Air Force organised a colloquium on April 2, 2022, at Air Force Station, Hakimpet, to honour Chetak Helicopter's 60 years of great service in the Indian Air Force. During the summit, Shri Rajnath Singh presented the opening speech. Raksha Mantri unveiled a one-of-a-kind cover, a coffee table book, and a commemorative film on Chetak Helicopters during the conclave.
The Chetak helicopter is the oldest active flying equipment in the Indian Air Force. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited(HAL) developed it under a licence deal . The Chetak Helicopter was delivered to the Indian Air Force in 1962. The crowd was impressed by a stunning flypast that included Chetaks, Pilatus, Kirans, Hawks, Advanced Light Helicopters, and a Light Combat Helicopter. The celebration concluded with a diamond formation flypast by eight Chetak helicopters, a craft that continues to offer excellent service throughout the country. This incredible aircraft continues to fly in all types of weather and serves as the primary training helicopter for pilots from all three Services.
