Universities in Karnataka will now use CUET scores for admission to undergraduate programmes such as BA, BSc, and BCom, according to UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar yesterday. The online application for CUET 2022 will open on April 6. CUET will be held in all UGC-funded central universities for admission to UG programmes beginning with the 2022-23 academic session.

"Today, I met with the Vice-Chancellors of 25 Karnataka State Universities to discuss the Common University Entrance Test" (CUET). "The VCs have supported the implementation of CUET and have agreed to use CUET for admissions in BA, BSc, BCom, and similar programmes," the UGC Chairman said today in a social media post.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the CUET 2022 application dates, stating that the entrance exam will be held in the first and second weeks of July.

"Candidates who wish to appear in CUET (UG) – 2022 should carefully read the detailed Information Bulletin hosted on cuet.samarth.ac.in, www.nta.ac.in, and the Prospectus available at Participating Universities/ Institutes websites for eligibility, scheme/ duration/ timings/ medium/ fee of examination," it said.

The CUET may also be adopted by public, private, and deemed universities.
