Description
Students of Jamia Millia Islamia's postgraduate mass media programme have written to the university's vice-chancellor, requesting that their offline sessions be resumed because the instruction they are receiving online is "incomplete." They've also threatened to stop taking classes online.
Students of the MA in Mass Media (Hindi Journalism), which is a self-financing degree, wrote to the Vice-Chancellor on March 28 saying that the majority of students come from lower-middle-class homes and feel "cheated" by the education they are receiving.
"Because the education we are receiving through the internet mode is insufficient, we feel cheated. As a result of this predicament, several students are considering withdrawing their applications. We pay Rs 33,700 per semester "It was said in a Hindi-language email.
They've threatened to boycott online classes till the institution announces that offline academic activities would resume for them. Other colleges have fully resumed physical sessions, according to the students, who referenced an online opinion poll in which 36 out of 39 students voted in favour of offline classes.
"We have jointly decided to boycott online lessons and refuse to pay fees until the university issues a circular announcing the return of offline sessions so that the maximum number of students can benefit," the email stated.
