The Supreme Court of India's Chief Justice, NV Ramana, has launched the 'Fast and Secured Transmission of Electronic Records' (FASTER), a digital platform that allows the Supreme Court to send interim orders, stay orders, and bail orders to the appropriate authorities via a secure electronic channel. The online launch of the FASTER project was attended by CJI Ramana, Justices AM Khanwilkar, DY Chandrachud, Hemant Gupta, and Chief Justices and Judges of High Courts.
The Chief Justice of the India has released software that will allow court orders to be delivered quickly and securely using electronic ways, which will aid in the transmission of judicial orders. He underlined the importance of communicating higher court orders in a secure manner that is not interfered with by outside parties. The project 'FASTER' was initiated when a court led by CJI Ramana took suo motu notice of delays in convicts' release even after being granted bail, citing grounds such as non-receipt or non-verification of legal orders.
