In 2022, Vishwas Patel was re-elected as Chairman of the Payments Council of India (PCI) for the second time; he was first elected in 2018. In 2013, he served as the Co-Chairman of PCI. The Payments Council of India (PCI) is a payment ecosystem industry group linked with India's Internet and Mobile Association (IAMAI).
PCI's goal is to make India a cashless society by expanding digital payment options. The Payments Council of India promotes the development of the Indian payment industry and the country's move to a cashless economy. To create India a "cashless society," it interacts with other major financial and banking agencies and organisations.
