The conference will be co-hosted by Tajikistan and the Netherlands. Climate change mitigation and adaptation collaboration between the Netherlands and India would combine innovative solutions developed in the Netherlands with India's experience delivering water, sanitation, and hygiene to a large number of people for worldwide applicability. By 2024, India's Jal Jeevan Mission seeks to provide clean, adequate drinking water to all rural Indian homes via individual household tap connections. The strategy also includes water conservation and rainfall collection. According to figures from the Jal Shakti ministry, about half of the 193 million rural homes in India are covered by the scheme.
