Understanding students' educational and emotional needs in the post-Covid era was the focus of a massive parent-teacher meeting (PTM) held on Saturday across over 1,000 Delhi government schools. This was the first PTM in Delhi government schools following the institution's complete transition to an offline mode of teaching and learning.
"Due to the pandemic, schools were shuttered for nearly two years. This hurt not only our children's education but also their ability to think, understand, and be joyful. Now is the time to come together and repair this. Parents and teachers working together can help youngsters cope better with the post-pandemic environment "Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister, stated.
"Schools were closed and kids were confined to their homes during the Covid lockdown. The majority of the time, even teachers met with parents. However, the in-person mega PTM provided an opportunity for parents to freely and openly voice their issues with teachers "he stated Teachers are constantly accessible to address parents' questions about their children, and they are working hard to close the competency gap created by the pandemic, according to Sisodia.
The majority of the parents' concerns were about their children's social and emotional well-being, as well as measures to close learning gaps and get their studies back on track. The mammoth PTM, according to officials, was part of the Delhi government's two-phase recovery strategy, which attempts to bridge the competency gap caused by COVID-19, educate pupils to acquire essential core literacy and abilities, and focus on children's emotional well-being.
