On Wednesday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin distributed 1,370 desktop computers to information technology company Infosys to aid students in Greater Chennai Corporation schools. At a celebration held at the Secretariat here on Wednesday, Mr Stalin gave away six desktop computers to students as part of the scheme's inauguration.
According to an official statement, the 1,370 desktop computers would help 28,000 students in Greater Chennai Corporation-run schools and encourage them to engage in "self-learning."
On the occasion, copies of the Tamil Nadu Telecom Infrastructure Policy 2022 and the Tamil Nadu Data Policy 2022, both of which were unveiled by the government in January, were presented to the Chief Minister by Minister for Information and Technology Mano Thangaraj. The event was attended by Chief Secretary V Irai Anbu, Information Technology Principal Secretary Neeraj Mittal, and other government officials.
